Prayers and Praises from Senegal

Our larger books could be sold if our canvassers would take up this work earnestly, filled with the realization that these books contain precious instruction that God has entrusted to us that we may give it to the world.

Praise Reports:

Books to be sold
1. Because of generous help from supporters we have been able to buy books from the local Senegal Mission of SDA, so that local colporteurs will have books to sell. Buying the books has been a huge blessing for the mission as they have some sizable debt from the initial purchase of the books from the publishers that needs to be paid back in a timely manner. The best part of this purchase is that it is a gift that will keep on giving, as the colporteurs sell the books money will be put back in a fund to buy more books. Please pray that the books will find good homes!

2. One of our aims is to help the local SDA church with its various projects. There is a house church located in the south of Senegal in the city of Sedhiou that desperately needs a church. The local government has given the church land to build on and some funds to build a wall around the property. In order to start the building work the church needs a well. Through the help of our donors we are able to make this important well a reality! We'll keep you posted as we move forward on this exciting project.

3. LaRae has been working at a local Christian school so that our children can go to school for free. We homeschooled for a while, but felt that the kids would do better in a more structured environment. So far the kids have been enjoying school and LaRae has been positively challenged in her job as a high school science teacher.

Prayer Requests:

1. We are working on getting association status, we need this in order to have tax free status in Senegal and to have a legitimate organization when we do community programs. The paperwork process is a bit long, several miles stones have been passed. Jean Sambou a good friend and Le Chemin member has been a huge help in getting the paperwork passed through the different offices. Please pray that the official recognition will come through soon so that we will be able to do more concrete work.

2. In order to help our friends a Health business (https://web.facebook.com/healtheaz/) was started out of the house where we all live. In total we have 9 us living in an apartment as well as a dog and cat. We see a need to have more room for the business to grow as well as a better arrangement for living space. Please pray that God will show us the best solution.

3. Boaz in his capacity as the publishing director for the mission attended the year end meetings for the local SDA mission. There were a lot of positive things that came from the meetings, yet the over all take away is a need for prayer and funds. There are over 6 churches that need to be built, a minimum of four parsonages to be built, two or three schools to be build or finished, etc. The membership here in Senegal is poor and the money that comes in through tithes and offerings does not go far to cover local expenses let alone do new projects. Please pray that we will find revival and reformation here and that we can have wisdom in how to move forward and the funds necessary to build up the work. We can see God moving, we just need to follow in faith.

Hey have you reached out to other churches. I know the Riverview Church oof Lansing as been helping others financially and with prayers. The gentleman I was baptised by actually was setting one up in Grand Rapids. I know they have several other Worldwide locations.

Pastor Noel or Justin Detmers may be able to help with some more resources??

I send my Love and Prayers. Amen
