Praying for a friend with cancer

"Brethren, pray for us."

1 Thessalonians 5:25

Praises:

  1. Thankful that we haven't been sick in the last few weeks. With the changing of seasons you never know if sickness will be around the corner.
  2. Many times when buying a used vehicle there are issues that can come along. We are grateful
A view of the city of Dakar from the lighthouse
that God has helped us fix the few problems that have shown up, flat tire, master cylinder and rear bearings in one of the tires. Though inconvenient it could have been much worse if our truck had broken down in anther place that it did. Thanks for your prayers for our safety.
  3. A friend of ours from Niaguis is now here in Dakar going to University. The educational system told him that he was to take Portuguese as a major, even though he didn't study Portuguese before and there really is no future for him with this major. We have been praying for him to have a good future and recently found a place for him to learn about computers, how to fix them and how to do networking. The school is run by Brazilians! We are praying that he will learn not only about computers, but that they can help him with his studies in Portuguese. Always great to see how God works.

Requests:

  1. LaRae has a friend named Tia, she is an American who married a Senegalese and after he died in the US, moved with her family to Senegal to be close to his family. She now has cancer and LaRae has been regularly visiting her. Please pray that she will be open to surrendering her life to God. That she would see the areas in her life that need to be changed and that she would be willing to forgive those in the past who have wronged her.
  2. We have two houses that we are thinking of renting. Please pray we will make the right decision. God knows the neighborhood where we can be the most good, and the house that will bless His work the most.
  3. We are wanting to teach English, but so far have only come across closed doors. Please pray with us that we will be able to find the right environment to work and that God would bless us in our work. We are also apply to be substitute teachers in two schools and pray that if this is where God would have us work that He would open the doors.
